Accreditations and Memberships

We are proud members of ethical and environmental standards groups.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) was developed through a collaboration among leading standard setters — with the aim of defining requirements that are recognised worldwide ensuring the organic status of textiles from harvesting of raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing all the way to labeling — in order to provide credible assurance to the consumer.

Since its introduction in 2006 the Global Organic Textile Standard has become a certification granter ensuring ecologically sound production with safe labour conditions. Created to support and promote unprecedented growth in consumption of organic fibres, and to address demand for unified processing criteria from the industry and retail sectors, it has gained universal recognition, enabling processors and manufacturers to supply their organic textiles with one certification accepted in all major markets.

The Oeko-Tex ® Standard 100 is the world’s best-known independent product label for textiles that have been tested for harmful substances. Products with this seal go through extensive laboratory tests to ensure no health hazards to the user.

It is an alternative approach to conventional trade and is based on a
partnership between producers and consumers. When farmers can sell on
Fairtrade terms, it provides them with a better deal and improved terms
of trade. It is a pact/trade between companies and producers in
developing countries in which fair prices are paid to the producers.

Farmers and workers at the beginning of the chain don’t always get a
fair share of the benefits of trade- hence Fair trade enables consumers
to put this right.

In addition to the price paid for the product, there is an additional
sum of money, called the Fairtrade Premium, which farmers receive for
products sold on Fairtrade terms. This money goes into a communal fund
for workers and farmers to use to improve their social, economic and
environmental conditions.
